Enjoy this snippet from The Light! GOD Bless you all and I'm sorry that I ain't posted any in awhile! Thanks for being patient with me!
Lorraine spotted Jessica up ahead and, as she had thought, was chatting with a young man, his arm lying on her lower back.
She chuckled softly as she made her way up to the two and folded her arms as Jessica turned to greet her, her colored blue and red hair pulled to a sloppy bun
at the top of her head. Lorraine didn’t care much for that choice of colors but had decided that she liked the pink she had added to her own brown hair a week before.
Jessica smiled as she pulled Lorraine closer to them, her big earrings swinging back and forth as she did so. “Lori, this is a good friend of mine, Kyle. Kyle, this is Lori.”
Lorraine raised an eyebrow. Just ‘friend’? Yeah, right, Jessi. She shook the offered hand, hiding her small smile that wanted to come out and tease her friend for acting so ‘un-normal’. She usually was always so quick to say ‘boyfriend’ every time. But maybe she decided against it because she didn’t like this one as much. Besides, Lorraine didn’t blame her. He wasn’t that handsome, anyway, she thought.
“Nice to meet you, Kyle.”
He nodded. “Same here.”
Jessica led them over to the small coffee shop and they got in line to order. Lorraine really wasn’t all that interested in getting anything but Jessica would be mad if she didn’t do everything that she suggested that they do.
And there was nothing enjoyable about Jessica when she became mad.

So, I am praying about what day to set for the release date of The Light...I'm excited!
I know in an earlier post I said that the soonest would be late April, buuuut...It will probably be around mid or late summer. That seems like a long time away for me but so far that's what it looks like it'll be.
I am really excited to see it out where ya'll can read the whole thing, and thank you all for your support! (And don't forget to tell all your friends! Lol)
God Bless you all!
Here is a little snippet from The Light...
“Lord God, I don’t know how much longer she’ll give me. This could be the last time. I need the right words. We can’t force someone to except You, but...I just wish that some way I could get through to her. No, I wish that she would listen to You and let You get through to her.
“I’ve been given a second chance at showing her You. What if this is the only second chance she gets to hear about You and Your Son Jesus?
“Oh, God, help her. And help me. Give me the strength not to give up. I know You will and I thank You. Thank You,” William finished in a whisper.
He stayed on his knees for hours, dwelling in the presence of his God, not wanting to ever leave.
The first time that I read through The Light after I finished it, there were:
I'm now going through it for the fourth time, reading it third time. Let's see what has changed from the first time:
And I'm sure by the time that it's ready for publication, it will then have more pages and words!
In case you were wondering as to when it will be published, the soonest will be around late April. (To me that used to seem a long ways off!) But I'm working on it as quickly as I can.
I do, however, have someone who is reading the book (the only person besides me to do so), who is helping me with it things in it. Let me know if you want to know and I might tell you! It is someone who you've probably only heard about but never met and don't know personally.
So, I believe that covers about all the updates regarding the book!
God Bless you all abundantly!
She could already hear the yells of her parents coming from the house as she stepped from her car and slammed the door behind her. Her first day at college wasn’t bad, but coming home to her parents was what ruined the day.
Lorraine looked around at the drab place where they lived. Junk laid everywhere as she made her way up to the front door to the house that was falling apart. And even the inside was an eye sore.
She opened the door and stepped inside as a beer can came flying across the room at her. Lorraine jumped out of the way causing it to crash into the door as Jake stormed toward her. She rolled her eyes as Doris came from their bedroom and folded her arms across her middle, glaring at her daughter. No asking her how her day was or if she was going to work that night; no wondering if she had already met a nice boy or if she had been asked out on her first day. Jake didn’t come up and smile as he asked if she enjoyed college so far or say how he was proud of her for wanting to become a nurse; to help people.
No sign of love coming from either of them. But she wasn’t surprised, just it hurt a little to see them being so calloused...well, maybe it hurt a lot.
“Where have you been, young lady?” Jake shouted at her as he stooped over her, his eyes red around the rims from already being high on alcohol.
Lorraine held back all the crud remarks that she had playing in her mind as she looked up at him. “I came straight home from school and I need to get ready to go to work. I don’t want to be late.”
Jake laughed as he pointed to her, looking back at Doris. “School, she says?” He turned back to her as Doris grabbed a beer can and went back to their room, leaving the two alone, the bedroom door slamming shut.
“You don’t have enough brains to still be in school,” He finished his sentenced with a few of his favorite cuss words thrown in her face.
Lorraine huffed, taking a step forward as she glared up at Jake’s ugly face. “You know, Dad, I am smart! I'm not completely stupid!”
Jake smirked before he flung his hand back and slapped her across her face, causing her to stumble back against the door. With another laugh, Jake turned around and headed toward their bedroom, yelling for Doris.
Lorraine rubbed the burning on her cheek as she felt tears stinging her eyes. Her eye lids fell closed as she slid down the door to the floor. Her cell phone sounded off as a text message came in. Lorraine pulled her phone out and opened up the message from Jessica.
“Hey, girl. Ain’t that Zaydan a nice hunk of a guy?”
Lorraine looked up as William’s eyes flashed through her mind, seeing them looking down at her with such kindness.
She hit reply. “Can I come over? I want 2 spend the night at ur place. I can’t take him tonight.” Jessica was always willing to let her stay with her when she needed it.
Lorraine sighed as she leaned her head back and let the tears shake her. There was no one in her life that ever showed her any love. Jessica didn’t really show her love, it was more like rough kindness. She heard Doris scream as she hit the floor, Jake yelling at her at the top of his lungs. Lorraine gritted her teeth as she stood up and walked outside for a few minutes before going in to get some things for the night.
She gritted her teeth as she gripped her head with her hands, the loud voices from the house causing her anger to rise. In irritation her steps moved about quickly, not sure of where they were going. With a grunt of anger she dropped her hands and kicked the nearest thing, sending a loud bang through the yard. Lorraine turned back and glared at the house, her hate growing. After a few seconds of listening to the loud voices she decided not to go back in but to head straight to work. And everything that she needed for work was in her car, including her clothes.
I can always borrow some of Jessica’s things for tonight....
William sighed as he laid his phone on the desk then made his way to his bed, his feet seeming to drag as he did so. He didn't want Lorraine to think he had raised his voice because he was upset or angry at her. That's the last thing she needs right now... He wanted her to understand that he was only trying to get through to her-but maybe he only pushed her further away instead of drawing her closer.
“Oh, God, she needs you. Help her.”
He closed his eyes, remembering that he had to get up earlier for a meeting at work, knowing that sleep might come harder than before. He laid there for a few minutes, sleep fixing to claim him, when his phone blasted through and jerked his eyes open.
Jumping out of bed, he hurried to his desk, wondering if it was from Lorraine but saw that it was only from his brother Winchell. He headed back toward his bed as he answered.
There was a chuckle on the other end. “Has it really been that long since I called you?”
“Sorta,” William replied as he lay back down. “Every time I call, you're either at work or I assume with Joy. Those are the only two reasons I can think of why you wouldn't answer a call from your favorite twin.”
“Ha-ha, very funny.”
William glanced at the clock on his wall, noticing the late time. “Is there a particular reason that you called?”
“Is that a hint that I picked a bad time to call or a late hour?”
He smiled, realizing how well Winchell knew him. “Ha-ha, very funny,” William mimicked his brother's words back to him.
“Copy cat.” There was a small pause before he went on. “Actually, I needed to call you to tell you something, William.”
By the sound of his voice, William knew that it was something important, so he put his full attention into listening. “Yeah, go ahead.”
“God said to tell you, ‘Don't give up, William. Don't give up’.”
William lay there, not moving. Don't give up... He swallowed the lump in his throat, feeling God's love cover him, so powerful in that moment. Thank You, God. Thank You.
“You know, I don't know exactly what is going on with you right now but I want to encourage you. Just trust God and pray. And, like He said, don't give up.”
William chuckled lightly, his heart feeling overwhelmed with encouragement from God and Winchell. “I needed that. Thanks. Always can count on God-and you.”
“Of course you can. I should hang up, you're probably tired.”
“Naw, you don't have to.”
“You know, I really should see you more often, keep ya out of trouble. Little brothers gotta look out for you, man.”
“Younger? Like a minute.”
“That's enough for me, elder. Talk to you later.”
“Okay. Bye.” William replied with a small laugh.
He sighed as he laid his phone on the floor by the bed, remembering that he needed it nearby to hear the alarm. Lying back again, he looked up, imagining he was looking at the moon and stars.
“Thank You. You've never failed me, Jesus.”
Sleep came easily that time as he closed his eyes, his thoughts at rest.
Her hands began to shake as she slipped out of bed, a frown planted on her confused face. The words were so clear, as though someone in the very room had leaned over and whispered them to her. No, it was as though someone had leaned down to her very heart and spoke them softly.
With a shaky sigh she walked quietly out of the room and closed the door gently behind her. She made her way into the kitchen, willing her nerves to calm down. Willing her body to stop it's trembling. She shook her head slightly to try and clear it as she went to the refrigerator and retrieved for herself a couple of cans of beer.
Lorraine entered the junky living room, slumping onto the couch with a low groan, leaning her head back against the head rest. She sat still for a few seconds before she looked down at the drinks in her hand. For the first time, the very first time, they didn't look appealing. They looked...so...disdainful. The only thing that seemed good at the moment was the voice she had heard only a few minutes before. Sweetness. Beautiful. Good. There were no words that she could think of to describe it. Come unto Me-
She growled lowly as the words started to come again, shaking her head with agitation, rubbing her hands across her face. "Oh, shut up!" She kicked at the coffee table in front of her, knocking it over as she said, "Just shut up!"
Grabbing one of the beers she opened it hurriedly and lifted it to her lips, wanting to feel the cold liquid run down her sore throat. Just take me away! She begged it as she took the long drink. Take me to the place where I will remember no more. Just take me away with you, forever. Never return me.
Can someone be delivered from a broken house unto a healed and whole home?
Can someone be delivered from a hate filled heart to overflowing with love?
Can someone be delivered from believing lies of love to believing the Truth of God's love?
Can someone be delivered from the nightmares that haunt them every night to a peaceful sleep?
Can someone be delivered from hating the people who have wronged them to forgiving them?
Can someone be delivered from holding a gun to their head to accepting the Words from God to them?
